QEF Presentation
Formal presentation of Digital SLR camera to the QEF Neuro Rehabilitation Services Brain Injury Centre – 18th November 2010.
In August this year Leatherhead Decorative and Fine Arts Society provided funding, under its Young Arts umbrella, to the Brain Injury Centre of The Queen Elizabeth Foundation to enable them to purchase a Canon 450D Digital SLR Camera, needed by the Art Department’s clients in their work. During September Claire Bonfield and Joel Morrison, from the Brain Injury Centre, attended external short courses studying studio photography at SCOLA in Sutton. The clients were able to use this camera for these courses. All clients at the Centre will have the opportunity to use this camera in future projects. On 18th November Chris Evans, the outgoing Chairman of Leatherhead DFAS, accompanied by Winnie Benford, Membership Secretary and Kevin McCarthy, Leatherhead DFAS web designer, formally presented the camera to Claire and Joel at the Brain Injury Centre, Banstead (see picture). with the comment ‘Given the work we are doing mainly with adults in the area of education, restoration and preservation of our national heritage, we have felt highly privileged to have been working with such talented and motivated young people here at QEF’. Eileen Jackman, Principal of QEF Brain Injury Centre, thanked Leatherhead DFAS for the beautiful camera and said their clients will make very good use of it, especially with their Photoshop projects and the work in support of external courses at SCOLA.
